Eight staff members of the Department of Mercantile Law in the Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria attended a three-day conference, The Fourth Annual International Mercantile Law Conference, hosted by the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein from 1 to 3 November 2017.  TuksLaw's Mercantile Law experts presented papers and chaired sessions on various topics associated with Company Law, Labour Law, Intellectual Property Law, Tax Law and Consumer Protection.

The conference workshop on the first day focussed on the transformation and decolonisation of Mercantile Law subjects and conference papers on the subsequent days provided insights to the latest research conducted in the field of Mercantile Law.

The conference brought together academics and researchers to share their experiences in their respective disciplines. It also provided a platform for networking opportunities among academics, practitioners and students from various institutions.
