All interested persons are cordially invited to attend the following open lecture to be presented by Prof Douglas Kell on the Prinshof Campus: ‘How science will save the planet: what research is and how and why it is funded’.

Professor Kell, whose research is focused on Systems and Computational Biology, has published in excess of 400 scientific papers, 50 of which have been cited more than 100 times. His H Index is 77 and he has been cited more than 20 000 times (WoK). He is the Founding Director of Aber Genomic Computing and the EPSRC/RSC Research Professor of Bioanalytical Science and Director of the Manchester Centre for Integrative Systems Biology (www.mcisb.org/). Prof Kell was formerly the CEO of the UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
