Dr Sibanda is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Applied Materials (IAM) in the department of Chemical Engineering.

Dr Sibanda spent a cumulative 5 months at the Institute for Polymer Research (IPF) in Dresden Germany researching on an innovative and long lasting insect repellent fabric. During this time he also got involved in the activities of the World International Relations (WIR). This is an organisation whose mission is to "gather exceptional minds who are working towards a sustainable and more humane future, functioning as a global and neutral advisory board with the availability of all its members, who are willing to support or even to participate in progressive projects and initiatives.

Additionally, W.I.R. pursues lobby-like activities within the systematic framework of every country and region." It was with profound pleasure that they decided to include the image of Dr Sibanda in their calendar cover for the month of March 2017.
