The Education Association of South Africa (EASA) bestowed its medal of honour on Prof Irma Eloff, Dean of the Faculty of Education, in recognition of her outstanding service to education over a sustained period of time.
The EASA Conference 2015, hosted by UP’s Faculty of Education, was held in January 2015 in Mookgophong, Limpopo. The conference theme was “Celebrating excellence in education: A strong and enduring education system in the first 20 years of democracy”.
Prof Eloff delivered the conference’s keynote address, before receiving her prestigious award. Criteria for the award includes extraordinary achievements in the fields of education administration, policy, research or leadership, as well as promoting the prestige of South African education as social science and as practice on an international level.
