Posted on November 20, 2015

The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences has launched a new initiative, called ‘EMS-Talk’, This initiative is aimed at engaging staff, students, alumni and other Faculty stakeholders in debates concerning cutting-edge business, economic and financial issues of the day.

The first EMS-Talk event took place in September 2015, with Prof Stella Nkomo, Deputy Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies, addressing EMS students, academic assistants and staff on the topic ‘Graduate Skills for Employability in the 21st Century’.  The venue was packed and the students really appreciated and enjoyed the presentation.

The second EMS-Talk event took place in October 2015, when the Tax Ombudsman, Judge Bernard Makgabo Ngoepe, presented his first full-year annual report since his office’s inception in 2013.  The Department of Taxation co-hosted the event with the office of the Tax Ombudsman and their students and stakeholders were the target audience.
