UP expert serves on international commission for programme accreditation
Professor Jerry Kuye from the School of Public Management and Administration in UP’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences was part of the international expert commission tasked with affording international accreditation to public administration programmes. The commission assembled at the Rutgers University-Newark’s School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) in the USA from 9 to 13 June 2015.
The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA)’s expert commission, proposed by the Commission on International Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programs and coordinated by the SPAA at Rutgers University-Newark, visited the assessment institution and reviewed the self-assessment report for international programme accreditation of the Master of Public Administration and PhD in Public Administration programmes.
The commission for the procedure on accreditation included Chair Prof Allan Rosenbaum from Florida International University, Prof Jerry Kuye from UP, Prof Pan Suk Kim from Yonsei University in South Korea, Assoc Prof Polya Katsamunska from the University of National and World Economy in Bulgaria, and Rachel Emas, Executive Director of the Commission on International Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programs.
The SPAA occupies the 7th place among the American universities in the field of public management/administration education and the 5th place as innovative public service school at national level, according to the US News & World Report.
