Ms Deneil Habig completed her BCom(Hons) degree in Communication Management cum laude and top of her class at the end of 2014. She completed the BCom Marketing Management degree, also cum laude, at the end of 2013 and is currently enrolled for a postgraduate certificate in education through Unisa.

Ms Habig received a one year free membership from the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA), as well as a voucher to attend any PRISA conference in 2015 as reward for being the top achiever for BCom(Hons) in Communication Management 2014. She is excited to be attending the Digital Marketing conference later this year.

While studying for a BCom Marketing Management degree, Habig was exposed to communication management. She loved learning about the various aspects and importance of communication in business, and decided that she would do her honours degree in communication management.

According to Ms Habig, she learnt during her studies at UP that one must “stand up for what you believe in and live your life according to your own values, not everyone else’s. You have to do things for yourself, because no one else is going to do it for you and you have to take responsibility for your actions”.

Ms Habig’s goals for her future are to be successful and accomplish challenges that she sets for herself. She pointed out that the University of Pretoria’s preparation and guidance of students is unprecedented and exposed her to new and exciting opportunities.
