The Economic Society of South Africa

The primary goal of the Economic Society of South Africa(ESSA) is to promote discussion of economic issues, both theoretical and applied. It subscribes to no ideology and welcomes contributions on any economic topic of a theoretical, applied or policy nature. It welcomes critical discussion of views previously published in the Journal.
 
Membership is open to any person who subscribes to the objectives of the Society. Applications for membership may be addressed to the secretary, saje@up.ac.za or

The South African Journal of Economics, is the journal of the Society, that has been published since 1933. The editor is Prof Steve Koch, Head of the Department of Economics, University of Pretoria
