Department of Library Services Transformation Committee’s launch

Posted on April 01, 2017

On the 7th of February 2017 the DLS Transformation Committee, which is a subcommittee of the Institutional Transformation Committee was officially launched.  Committee members as well as the mandate and terms of reference of this subcommittee were introduced to the Library. The DLS Transformation Committee acts as an advisory body to both management and employees of the Library, exists to address transformation issues and to escalate certain matters to the Institutional Transformation Committee.

We will assist in issues of unfairness and any form of discrimination,  including racism, sexism, sexual harassment, ageism, diversity and disability. The Committee is also responsible for creating solutions and mechanisms to address transformation issues.

The DLS Transformation Committee cannot assist with:

  • Individual HR related issues (Unless issues are widespread in the Department)
  • Individual performance management issues, recruitment, training, remuneration disputes (unless it is alleged to be racism or sexism against an individual).

The DLSTC is in support of the UP campaigns of #SpeakOutUp.
