What’s on in Special Collections

Posted on April 03, 2017

During February and March, Special Collections had two small exhibitions in their Reading Room.

To celebrate the founding of the University of Pretoria on 10 February 1908, a variety of books were on display relating to the University, its history and its culture during February. A sample of that display was then moved to the external exhibition window on Level 3. Books on display included volumes of Ad Destinatum; Kya Rosa : 'n droom word waar; and Onderstepoort 1908-2008.

Then, to commemorate Human Rights month, Special Collections hosted an exhibition of relevant books, which ran through the month of March, including Perspectives on the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples in Africa by Solomon A. Dersso and Human Rights Law in Africa 1998 edited by Christof Heyns.

Special Collections encourages clients and colleagues to come and have a peak every so often to see what is going on in this little section.
