Shakespeare writers - enter our competition!

All University of Pretoria staff members and students are invited to enter our 'Shakespeare and me' competition!

William Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon and is regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. He wrote around 38 plays, 154 sonnets and numerous other poems and his plays are performed more often than those of any other playwright in the world.

To celebrate Shakespeare's death, a Shakespeare Week will be hosted by the Languages cluster in collaboration with the Department of Library Services from 18 to 22 April 2016. All UP students are invited to enter our 'Shakespeare and me' competition.

Write a Shakespeare sonnet (any topic) OR a 300-500 word essay on the topic 'Shakespeare and Me'. Selected winning entries will be considered for publication in Inclinations.

Closing date for entries: Saturday, 30 April 2016

Winners will be announced: Wednesday, 4 May 2016
