TuksChess show Limpopo Chess a thing or two of chess

Posted on May 05, 2014

Each team consisted of 10 men and 5 ladies. However, TuksChess could only bring 2 ladies. Therefore, as part of the training, 3 male players were requested to assist the ladies. The teams had initially agreed to play on two rounds of chess, but because the excitement that comes along with playing chess, an extra game was added.

The first round produced rather interesting results as the game were very close as TuksChess men won 6-4 and ladies 3&12; -1&12;. The second round showed the potential class TuksChess has as the men won 7 &12; -2 &12; and the ladies 3-2. Seemingly UL Chess Club need more lessons as TuksChess almost gave them a white wash with score being 8 &12;-1&12; to the TuksChess guys and the ladies losing 3-2.

This was surely a day to remember and we hope both these teams will continue to prepare themselves for the massive USSA 2014 Chess tournament that awaits ahead. We hope TuksChess will produce enough ladies to represent the team. TuksChess would like to thank UL Chess club for taking their time and effort for coming all the way from Limpopo and spending such lovey time with the club.
