This is a once off opportunity for participants to learn how to visualize statistical data correctly in appropriate and attractive maps. The course further aims at sensitizing those becoming experts in geodata processing for the need and value of allotting time for meaningful and appealing maps. It comprises two weeks of lectures and practicals on campus, followed by a project, written assignment, and a three hour written exam. The course is presented by Prof. Dr. Gertrud Schaab from the Faculty of Information Management and Media at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in Germany. She specialises in thematic cartography, spatial visualisation, map compilation and design, geospatial analysis, and geography.
