Post-graduate studies in 2022

Bioinformatics is the application of computer science, informatics, statistics and mathematics to biological problems.

The Bioinformatcs and Computational Biology Unit invites applications towards post-graduate studies in 2023. We typically accept students who have majored in Biological Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Computer Sciences, Information Technology or related disciplines into our programmes*.

IMPORTANT: Please apply on the UP online application system accorsing to the following dates:

1st round applications*  - closing date for Hons in 2023: 29 July 2022
1st round notification of acceptance: by 31 August 2022
Final date for 1st round accepted students to confirm intent to register: 11 Nov 2022

2nd round applications*  - closing date for Hons in 2023: 31 Oct 2022
2nd round notification of acceptance: by 9 Dec 2022
Final date for accepted students to confirm intent to register: 22 Dec 2022
All shortlisted candidates will be notified no late than 6 January 2023
 
Start of Hons Programme in 2023 (to be confirmed): about 31 Jan 2023
 

We do give students with high marks provisional acceptance after the mid-year exams, and then other students are considered after the year-end exams.

 

* Note: Please note that admission is subject to suitable previous learning, and additional supplementary courses may be prescribed. A limited number of positions are available.
