The Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation (GovInn) invites you to the 2017 Governance Innovation Week. This is the third event of its kind and will include several events around different themes as well as daily workshops on topical issues related to governance in South Africa, Africa and beyond.

The Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation (GovInn) invites you to the 2017 Governance Innovation Week. This is the third event of its kind and will include several events around different themes as well as daily workshops on topical issues related to governance in South Africa, Africa and beyond.

This event will bring together international experts, scholars and activist focused on EU-Africa relations, wellbeing economy, migration and transitional justice. The conference will run from 27 November to 1 December 2017 at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria.

The event will host the second Thuli Madonsela Good Governance Lecture with Mallence Bart-Williams giving the keynote address titled 'From charity to sharity: Africa's wellbeing through creativity and leadership'. This will take place on 29 November, from 17:30 to 19:30.

Two panel discussions will be held on 27 and 28 November, respectively titled 'From equal development to wellbeing: research and action to connect people and nature' and 'The politics of change: how to build a wellbeing economy'. On the morning of 29 November, two esteemed ambassadors from the European Union and Nigeria will join us in a dialogue related to 'The EU-Africa strategic partnership: past, present future'. On the evening of 30 November, the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation's atlas Rural Africa in motion: dynamics and drivers of migration south of the Sahara will be launched by CIRAD and GovInn.
