Feast@UP

  • DATE

    13 August 2017 - 19 August 2017

  • VENUE

    Inner city, Pretoria, South Africa

The Feast@UP is a team effort by academics and students in conjunction with the Feast of the Clowns. It is an annual inner city community festival, started and hosted by the Tshwane Leadership Foundation together with the City of Tshwane and the Centre for Contextual Ministry in the Faculty of Theology at the University of Pretoria.

The intention of Feast@UP is to bring the city closer to the campus and the campus closer to the city. Through this project we want to foster a sense of 'I am a part of the city' among participants. We want  to use this year's Feast of the Clowns theme 'It's up to us ...' to make the city a better place, overcome gender violence, and build social cohesion, or whatever else you want to fill in there.

The Feast of the Clowns is committed to community-building, social cohesion and raising awareness of social problems. It is done through creating a festive space and the use of arts and workshops.
