'Science is Fun' Holiday programme

Sci-Enza will host the very popular “Science is Fun” holiday programme during the 2015 July holiday for primary school learners (grade 1 – 6) from 7 – 10 July.

Theme 1: Buzz with Bees

Learn about different types of bees in a colony such as the queen, workers, soldiers, and drones, where do they live and much more. Fun activities with honey, bee wax and the bee waggle dance!

Date: Tuesday 7 July OR Wednesday 8 July (the Tuesday programme will be repeated on Wednesday)

The cost is R60 per child per theme. NO SNACKS INCLUDED: Children should please bring their own lunchbox.

The programme will run from 08:30 – 13:00

Ticket sales open on Thursday 25 June. Due to the popularity of our programme a maximum of 4 tickets per person will be allowed. Cash only (no EFT or card facilities available).

Note: No telephonic booking will be accepted.

Tickets are limited to 60 children per day. Please Note: The programme will be presented in English with Afrikaans facilitators on site.

Theme 2: Water, water, everywhere...

This programme is filled with fun water experiments and activities to learn about the storage of water and where Pretoria gets its water from.

We are also going to do experiments with hydrogels to find out how much and how quickly they can absorb water. This is a global citizen science project for primary school learners managed by the Royal Society of Chemistry. The results of our experiments will be shared with thousands of kids around the world!
