Academic Programmes

All Formal Academic Event take place in the Department Lecture Venue Located on the 7th Floor of the Steve Biko Academic Hospital.

Academic Meeting on Fridays

14h00-16h00

The Academic meeting is a platform for registrar presentations which are supervised by a consultant on a topic of interest in one of the domains required by the college.

Presentations around research - protocols, proposals will also take place.

Journal presentations by a registrar takes place once a month based on recent articles of interest which have been identified. The aim is to encourage and maintain familiarity with current literature while imparting important skills in the appraisal and critiquing of the literature.

Part 2 Tutorials

Part 2 Tutorials follow the Academic Meeting as arranged usually by the consultant on call for the weekend. Theses may take various forms including patient presentations, discussions, tutorial, mock-vivas.
