The University of Pretoria is hosting a jazz symposium on 6 October 2017 that will bring together social scientists, ethnomusicologists, musicians and lovers of jazz for a day of academic and musical dialogues.
The symposium seeks to engage with jazz practice in the manner suggested above.
The symposium will conclude with performances by the Mageshen Naidoo Ensemble, the Tshwane School of Music, Jesse Mogale and CAFCA.
