Students from the University of Pretoria (UP) excel in marketing management practical assignment facilitated by the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences - Department of Marketing Management, in collaboration with BISI (Bramhope International School of Innovation) - winner of the Accenture Innovation Index 2017.

Honours degree students from the Department of Marketing Management at the University of Pretoria (UP) recently completed a project co-facilitated by the Department and BISI (an UP business partner) that required students to benchmark the Bramhope Group’s industry rivals, value offering and marketing strategies. The students were marked against criteria which included content and creativity, presentation skills, quality of presentation material and applied innovation. During an award ceremony hosted at UP, senior staff from the University congratulated the winning groups.

"As a business, Bramhope Group has incorporated innovation into its culture. It is the reason for our success and we are proud to be one of the leading companies in our industries, when it comes to innovation. Our innovation incubator, BISI, offers a unique student development programme as well as internships. However, we do not stop there. We also offer students the opportunity to start their own businesses thereby developing into great entrepreneurs and hopefully business leaders and innovators of the future,'' says Bramhope Groupe CEO, Isak Marais.

UP’s partnerships with industry innovators such as BISI creates a win-win partnership for both UP and its students. The value they gain from practical industry-related experience, contact with real businesses and their leaders who operate successfully within their future industries of employment, is priceless. It gives UP students a better chance in the tough job market by ensuring they gain the knowledge, practical skill as well as life skills required to build successful careers.

The University strives to stay abreast with the latest innovations in industry in order to expose its students to the latest developments as they happen. Its partnerships with businesses and innovation incubators, such as BISI, facilitates this process and ensures UP academic staff and students are not only aware, but also actively involved in the development of remarkable innovations that will shape the future.
