Some leaders are effective but not very ethical, and other leaders are ethical but not very effective. The challenge of leadership is about how to do both. The interesting thing about ethics and leadership is that, unlike science and technology, the content of both topics is not new and has not really changed over time. That is why studying history offers great insights into leadership in the broader context of the human condition. In this talk Prof Joanne Ciulla will examine why past and present leaders have found it difficult to be ethical.
