Verbum et Ecclesia is the academic journal of the Dutch Reformed Church at the Faculty of Theology, University of Pretoria. It is accredited by the National Department of Education.
The periodical functions within the framework of the university’s primary functions: training, research and community service. It is the vision of Verbum et Ecclesia to equip and inform students, ministers, theologians, and other interested people, on the latest theological research. Verbum et Ecclesia thus falls under the Faculty of Theology’s outreach programmes.
The editorial board of Verbum et Ecclesia has the mission of placing one copy of each edition of Verbum et Ecclesia within reach of each minister / pastor.
Verbum et Ecclesia appears twice a year (in July and November). A third edition is published periodically as a commemoration edition, or as a special edition on a specific subject or topic.
A free article, or two, will be e-mailed to all NG congregations, ministers, and other interested people, to encourage annual subscription to Verbum et Ecclesia.
Anybody who wishes to receive the free articles in Verbum et Ecclesia, can either look here, or could provide the editor an e-mail address.
Selected articles can already be downloaded here free of charge. Click here for a table of contents. Verbum et Ecclesia will soon be available electronically on the internet. Individuals or congregations wishing to subscribe can direct their enquiries to Prof. D J Human.
