CONFERENCE
THEMES
FOG

Fog forms when water
vapor cools down and condenses to form tiny water droplets in the
atmosphere. Apart from altitude, there is not much difference between
clouds and fog. Fog formation is, however, directly affected by near-surface conditions, adiabatic cooling and flow patterns in the atmosphere.
The conference aims to focus on the following topics related to fog
formation:
FOG (CLOUD) MICROPHYSICS
ATMOSPHERIC CHEMISTRY
WEATHER SYSTEMS
MOISTURE ADVECTION
FOG AND HUMAN LIFE
FOG FORECASTING
ECOSYSTEMS
AGRICULTURE
GENERAL RESEARCH
FOG COLLECTION

Many locations are
suitable for fog water collection. Frequent fog episodes even appear in
extremely dry regions, or high altitude mountains, where clean drinking
water is not always accessible. Fog water may serve as an additional
source of water, which in turn, may contribute significantly to the
quality of life. The conference aims to focus on the following fog water
collection topics:
QUALITY OF LIFE
SITE LOCATION
FOG WATER COLLECTORS
FOG WATER YIELD
FOG WATER QUALITY
GENERAL RESEARCH
DEW
Dew forms when water vapor condenses on a given surface. This process
usually occurs during the night-time when radiative cooling causes a drop in surface temperatures. The
conference is open to all aspects of dew research, including:
AGRICULTURE DISEASES/PESTS
CHEMISTRY
DEW COLLECTION
ECOSYSTEMS
DEW FORECASTING
DEW MEASUREMENT
GENERAL RESEARCH
