Aim of the project

The main objective of the project is to develop maize genotypes with increased resistance to Fusarium moniliforme, by means of traditional breeding as well as with introduction of antifungal genes. Technology transfer and training will be used to establish a core regional expertise in both the pathogen and host plant in Zambia and South Africa.
